A New Free PPC / SEO Keyword Tool
As part of my profession I am constantly looking for new ways to generate keywords for SEO and PPC and recently I have started using a new keyword tool by WordStream which could be used for SEO and PPC keyword research: http://www.wordstream.com/keywords/.
This tool is extremely user-friendly and generates an abundance of keywords and phrases – much more than I have seen in other free and paid keyword tools I have used over the years. I am still in the process of testing some of the keywords and phrases that appear as having high relative search volume to see if the search volume is correct. If anyone reading this post has any results I would love to hear your feedback.
Of course one of the one great things about this tool is that is for free. When you start using this tool you might wonder, as I did, why they would offer this keyword generator for free. In their FAQ that state that they make money by selling their keyword management solution.
Some users might not like the fact that they do not supply actual statistics of how many times a term has been used, instead they supply a scale of the relative search volume, but I have to admit that often the statistics supplied by some of the free and paid keyword tools around seem totally unrealistic so relative volume is fine as far as I am concerned. Anyhow, when you see how many new terms this tool will supply you I think you might forgive them.
After you have tried this keyword tool I would really love to hear your feedback. I would also love to hear from you if you have any other free or paid keyword tools that you like working with.
Happy keyword researching….

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for trying out the tool! We're also of the opinion that the guesstimates as to traffic volume in other tools are pretty dubious, but we may add in estimated search traffic somewhere down the line just because it is pretty popular. Very cool that you noticed that the depth of the database is the tool's strong suit. Your readers may also find this post I punched up with a practical use of the tool interesting: http://www.huomah.com/Search-Engines/Learn-SEO/....
As for other keyword tools, personally I really like SEM Rush and SEO Book has a TON of really great free tools (tools.seobook.com). Also David Harry's blog and community (huomah.com and huomah.com/dojo) are excellent SEO/SEM resources.
Anyway thanks for taking a look at the tool, much appreciated!
